Meredith Du Bon

Soprano

Meredith is thrilled to embark on her first season singing with St. Charles Singers!  She received her classical voice training from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, IN, where she completed her Master of Music in Voice degree as well as coursework for her Doctor of Music in Voice degree.  She completed her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Millikin University in Decatur, IL.  It was at Millikin where her love for choral singing began, performing and traveling throughout her collegiate career with the highly acclaimed Millikin University Choir under director Brad Holmes. Meredith’s love of choral singing has led her to a current position with prestigious Chicago Symphony Chorus.

Meredith’s professional stage experience is comprised of work with Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre, Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre, and Petite Opera Productions in Park Ridge, IL. Some of Meredith’s favorite operatic and musical theatre roles include Little Red Ridinghood (Into the Woods), Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro), Nannetta (Falstaff), June (Gypsy), and Giannetta (L’elisir d’amore).  Recital singing is also a strong aspect of Meredith’s musical palate. Her recent doctoral recital “The Art of Getting Married” at Indiana University received great accolades by both faculty and peers. Some of her favorite composers include Richard Strauss, Libby Larsen, Charles Ives, Donizetti, and Hugo Wolf.

Having recently moved to Chicago, she is enjoying tremendously exploring her new city! When she isn’t performing or teaching, Meredith enjoys exercising, yoga, cooking, traveling to her family’s home in Iowa, and spending time with her husband and two cats.
