Bob has been singing with SCS since 2000.
Bob was inspired to enter music education by Lamar Runestad, his high school choral director at Thornridge High School, Dolton, Illinois.
Bob is a graduate of Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Music degree. He went on to get a Masters of Music from Northwestern University. Bob retired after 33 years at Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, Illinois. He currently is lecturer in Choral Music Education at Northwestern University. Bob sang with the Chicago Symphony Chorus for 14 seasons. He is the State Secretary of the American Choral Directors Association. When he's not singing Bob is a composer who has seen 20 commissions performed by regional choirs. He has guest conducted numerous times and is the 2006 recipient of the Harold Decker Award from the IL-ACDA.
Bob's favorite music is choral music from most periods. He also has a love for orchestral works, particularly works from the British Isles and Austro-German pieces.
When he's not doing music Bob enjoys people, travel, reading and is reputed to be a "vicious" card-player.
